Your adventure begins with a scenic 45-minute drive from Las Vegas, passing ancient yucca and Joshua trees in the Mojave Desert. As you reach the crest of the beautiful Columbia Pass, keep an eye out for mountain sheep. You will soon leave the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas behind and step back in time to experience life in the real Old West.

Upon arrival at Sandy Valley Ranch, you will be greeted by your wrangler for the day who will provide you with instruction, assistance, and cowboy humor. After receiving basic riding and cattle herding instruction, you will mount well-trained horses and embark on a trail ride through the dry gulches and mesquites of the American West.

At the Ranch, you will learn how to move and sort cattle in professional arenas and practice for the afternoon cattle drive where you will push cows across the desert. Afterward, enjoy a gourmet Cowboy Lunch in the cozy Ranch House Restaurant.

The afternoon brings a cattle drive with a herd of ornery cows, an experience of a lifetime. Don’t forget to have your camera ready! After all the activity, rest on the cowboy porch or play cowboy games with your wrangler, or learn to rope with authentic Wild West 45’s.

As the sun sets, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine and capture the magnificent desert sunset with your camera. Your Cowboy Gourmet Dinner will be served by candlelight and includes your beverage of choice. A campfire follows where you can sing and listen to cowboy poetry under the starry sky.

Now it’s time to bid goodbye to the ranch and your new cowboy friends and return reluctantly to the 21st century.
